Why StartMyBrokerage.com?

Because our referral partners already have relationships with some of the top IMOs in the country.  It's pretty simple - build a relationship with us and you can leverage our relationships to help you build your brokerage.  Most IMOs will give you "street comp" at best, unless you commit to huge production requirements and provide proof of past production and income.

How can this be a free service?

IMOs look to our referral partners to bring them high caliber licensed professionals and brokers.  When we create the relationship between you and the IMO.  The IMO pays us directly for the referral.

What IMOs do you use?

Due to the confidential nature of these referral arrangements, we cannot publish the names of the IMOs that we use online.  Once you engage with us and sign a Confidentiality Agreement, you will know the IMO that we will refer you to.  IMOs compete against each other and it is the best interest of all of our relationships to not publish this type of information online.

You will be paid directly from the insurance carrier.  Some bonus compensation may be paid to you from the IMO.  Your sub-agents can be paid directly by your brokerage or you can have them set up to be paid directly from the insurance carrier.

How can my brokerage get paid?

What products do you offer for my brokerage?

We specialize in life and annuity products, however health, disability, medicare supplement, and long-term care may be available for you - check with us for details.  We do not work in P&C insurance at all.

I don't have any agents in my brokerage.  Can I still work with you?

Yes.  Whether you're a one person broker or a large brokerage with many sub-agents, we can help to negotiate a plan for you.

I want to service my own policies.  Can I do that?

Yes, that is the preferred way.  One of the reasons that we can offer high compensation is because the IMO expects the brokerage to handle their own outstanding requirements, delivery requirements and other service.  In fact, in order to be truly successful with your brokerage, you need to control all aspects of the sale.  You will be placing applications directly with the carrier's electronic application system - you will not be using the IMO's iPipeline system.  If you prefer to utilize the services of the IMO to help you service your policies, it will result in reduced commissions, but it can be done.

Can I transfer my existing appointments to the new IMO?

Most likely, yes.  Many IMOs will give you a "release" if you ask.  Some will not.  Our IMOs will work with you to transfer any existing carrier appointments.
